
Alabama Inks Leah Brooks to 2024 Class

The Huntsville, Ala. native joins the class of 2024 as an AHSAA three-time state champion
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Head Coach Kristy Curry announced the signing of Leah Brooks to the incoming class Friday afternoon. A 6-2 forward from Huntsville, Ala. who is a three-time AHSAA Class 6A state champion from Hazel Green High School. Brooks brings a competitive and winning mentality that will pay huge dividends for the Crimson Tide program on and off the court.

Brooks, the 2022-23 Alabama Sports Writers Association (ASWA) Class 6A Player of the Year and top in-state prospect, will bring versatility and an inside scoring presence to the Tide. She has helped lead Hazel Green High School, who is coached by the legendary Tim Miller, to three consecutive AHSAA 6A State Championships during the 2020-21, 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons. Brooks was named to the 6A All-State Tournament Team in both 2022 and 2023 as well as the 6A State Tournament MVP in 2023. For her performance during the 2022-23 season, Brooks was named to the AHSAA Super All-State Team and 6A Northwest Regional All-Tournament and MVP. The ASWA listed Brooks to the First Team All-State in 2023 and Second Team All-State in 2022.
As the 2023 MaxPreps Junior All-American honorable mention, Brooks is a member of the 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds club. Brooks contributed to Hazel Green's record-breaking year during the 2022-23 season when the program set the record for most consecutive wins in the state of Alabama (87) and most consecutive state championships in the state of Alabama (6). During Hazel Green's magical run, they were ranked as high as 15th in the nation by SCNext Top 25 and finished with a 36-1 record as Brooks averaged 16.1 PPG, 10.1 RPG and 2.4 APG.
As a Nike EYBL participant, Brooks played on a national level competing for Alabama Southern Starz directed by Doug Bush and the Tennessee Flight, directed by Tom Insell.
