
Alabama Rowing Inks 12 on National Signing Day

The Crimson Tide’s 2024 signing class covers seven states and four countries
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama inked 12 rowers for next year's freshman class, Crimson Tide head coach Glenn Putyrae announced Friday.
The Crimson Tide's 2024 signing class covers seven states and four countries.

Annabel Barnett | Melbourne, Victoria, Australia | Caulfield Grammar School
- Currently training with Melbourne University Boat Club
- Named to 2023 Victorian trial boat that trialed for the Australian U19 team
- Earned a place on the 2022 Pathways Victorian squad
- Finished first in State of Victoria, fourth at Australian Nationals in the 4+ crew
Sydney Caragher | Seattle, Wash. | Pocock Rowing Club
- High School: Holy Names Academy
- Invited to 2023 US Rowing Selection Development Camp
- Competed at Summer Nationals in 2023 as a member of the Selection Development Team
- Finished first at the 2022 ODP Cup as a member of the U19 4+ crew, as well as the U17 8+ boat
Adison Conti | Sea Isle, N.J. | Ocean City HS
- Raced at Scholastic Nationals in 2023
- Took second place in the Junior 8+ at New Jersey State Championships
Avery Douglas | Cleveland, Ohio | Cleveland Foundry Juniors
- High School: Westlake HS
- Invited to 2023 US Rowing Selection Development Camp
- Claimed first place in the Open 8+ at the 2023 Summer Nationals before also securing a third-place finish (Youth 8+) and a fifth-place finish (Youth 4x), all as a member of the Selection Development Team

- 2022, 2023 bronze medalist in the Varsity 4+ at Youth Nationals after claiming second in the U17 Pair in 2021
- Gold medal at Head of the Hooch ad 6th place finish at Head of the Charles in Youth 8+, 2023

Heidi Heppner | Atlanta, Ga. | St. Andrew Rowing Club

Olivia Knight | Southlake, Texas | Founders Rowing Club

- Finished first in three different races at the 2023 Summer Nationals (Youth 8+, Youth 4+ and U23 8+) as a member of Ready Set Row Elite
- Claimed first in two races at the 2023 Head of the Hooch (U19 1x and 4x), as well as a second-place finish in the U19 2x
- Took fourth in the Youth 2x at the 2023 Head of the Charles

- Finished first in the 2023 Youth Nationals B Final of the Youth Pair race
- Won the Youth Pair race at the 2023 Summer Nationals
- Raced at Youth Nationals in the Youth 4+ crew, finishing 10th in 2021 and 12th in 2022
