
Zarek Wilson Set to Compete at Pan American Games

Wilson will swim for Trinidad and Tobago at the international competition in Santiago, Chile
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama freshman Zarek Wilson will represent Trinidad and Tobago at the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile.
Wilson will compete in three individual events at the meet, racing in the 100-meter butterfly and the 100 and 200-meter backstroke.
The Meet
- The meet will feature athletes from North, Central and South America and the Caribbean
- Competition began on Oct. 18 with baseball and will conclude with the closing ceremony on Nov. 5
- Events will be streamed on the Olympic Channel via Olympics.com
Schedule of Events
- Sunday: 100-meter butterfly and 200-meter backstroke
- Monday: 100-meter backstroke
About Zarek Wilson
- In his first season with the Tide
- Has competed on the international stage , swimming at the CARIFTA (2016-23) and the Central American and Caribbean Swimming Championships (2016-21)
- Holds multiple Trinidad and Tobago National Age Group records and has medaled in multiple events at the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games
- Commonwealth Youth Games 100-meter butterfly championship record holder
