Softball Sweeps Friday Night Doubleheader vs. Jones College

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama softball played under the lights Friday night at Rhoads Stadium, defeating Jones College in both games of a doubleheader by scores of 9-2 and 12-1.

Alabama concludes its fall slate on Sunday, Oct. 22 with a 1 p.m. CT doubleheader against Chipola College.

Highlights

After allowing a two-run home run, Jocelyn Briski bounced back to strike out seven of the eight remaining batters in her 3.0 inning start
Kayla Beaver threw 4.0 shutout innings in relief, striking out four with just one hit and one walk allowed
Kenleigh Cahalan drew a pair of walks and drove in a run with a triple off the wall in game one
Riley Valentine didn't have an official at-bat in game one, but drew two walks and plated a run with a sac fly RBI
Jenna Johnson had two RBIs in game one
Alea Johnson started game two in the circle, allowing just one run on four hits with eight strikeouts
Jaala Torrence threw 3.0 shutout innings in relief in game two, allowing just two singles and a walk with three Ks
Kendal Clark was 4-for-4 in game two, including a pair of two-run home runs
In her first at-bat of the fall, KJ Haney entered to pinch hit with the bases loaded in game two, dropping a single to right to drive in two with a third run scoring on a fielding error
