Nick Dunlap’s 12-under par total set a school mark and tied an NCAA record for a single round to help give the Crimson Tide a four-shot lead entering Tuesday’s final round
EAST HAMPTONS, N.Y. – Alabama golfer Nick Dunlap carded a record-setting round of 12-under par 60 in Monday's second round to help lead the Crimson Tide to a 36-hole clubhouse lead at the Hamptons Intercollegiate. The Tide will enter Tuesday's final round of the event with a four-stroke advantage at 19-under par 557 (285-272).
Dunlap became the 18th golfer in NCAA history to record a 60 in a tournament, and the first to achieve the feat since Columbia's Nathan Han did so on Oct. 1, 2022. The Huntsville, Ala., native holds a two-shot lead over UCLA's Luke Powell (-13) entering the final round of action as he will look to win his second medalist honor in as many weeks (won medalist honors at last week's SEC Match Play hosted by Jerry Pate).
The third and final round of the two-day, 54-hole event will take place Tuesday at the par 72 6,742-yard Maidstone Golf Club course.
