Audrey West Set to Join Alabama Gymnastics in the Fall

The Tampa, Fla., native is a 2021 USA Junior Olympic National Championship Qualifier
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – 2021 USA Junior Olympic National Championship Qualifier Audrey West is set to join the University of Alabama gymnastics team in the fall. The Tampa, Fla., native will join an incoming freshman class for the Tide that also includes Chloe LaCoursiere, Gabby Ladanyi and Jamison Sears.
Audrey West said
"I committed to the University of Alabama because of the empowering environment that is created and the school's deep-rooted traditions. After visiting the campus and meeting the team, I knew I would progress as an athlete and person and thrive under the incredible coaching staff."
About Audrey West
- Competes for Alecia Pollina and Jeff LaFleur at LaFleur's Tampa
- 2021 Junior Olympic National Championships Qualifier
- Finished fifth nationally on the uneven bars in 2021
- Finished third in the all-around at the Region 8 Gymnastics Championships
Incoming Freshman Class
- Chloe LaCoursiere, Gabby Ladanyi, Jamison Sears and West make up the Tide's incoming freshman class
- LaCoursiere is from Los Angeles, Calif., and currently trains at Coastal Gymnastics Academy
- 2022 USA Gymnastics Developmental National Team Member
- 2022 USA Gymnastics Development Program national champion in the all around, vault and uneven bars as well as taking third on the floor exercise
- 2021 Development Program National Uneven Bar Champion
- 2022 Regional Champion on the uneven bars and floor exercise and runner-up in the all around
- Ladanyi, a Spring, Texas native, trains at World Champions Centre
- 2022 USA Gymnastics Developmental National Team Member
- 2022 USA Gymnastics Development Program uneven bars national champion
- 2022 USA Gymnastics Region 3 uneven bars champion
- 2022 Texas State all-around, vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise champion
- Sears is from Yorktown, Va. and currently competes for World Class Gymnastics
- 2022 USA Gymnastics Development Program National Champion on the balance beam and floor exercise
- 2022 Nastia Liukin Cup all-around and balance beam champion
- Competed in the 2019 U.S. Gymnastics Championships
- 2019 USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic National Champion on the balance beam and floor exercise and runner-up in the all-around
