
Gabby Gladieux Named SEC Freshman of the Week

The Crimson Tide rookie competed on three events in Alabama’s win over Arkansas
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama gymnast Gabby Gladieux was named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Gladieux competed on three events in the Crimson Tide's win over the Arkansas Razorbacks, scoring matching totals of 9.875 on the balance beam and floor exercise and a 9.725 on the vault. The freshman's scores tied for the highest in the Tide's lineup on both balance beam and floor exercise.
The Crimson Tide returns to Coleman Coliseum Friday night when it takes on the Florida Gators at 6:30 p.m. CT on ESPNU. Individual meet tickets are available now on RollTide.com or through the Alabama Ticket Office.
Gabby Gladieux, SEC Freshman of the Week
- First career SEC Weekly Honor for Gabby Gladieux and the first UA gymnast to be recognized as a weekly honoree this season
- Finished second on both the balance beam (9.875) and floor exercise (9.875) to help lead the Crimson Tide to a victory at Arkansas
- Currently the highest-ranked freshman and No. 11 overall in the SEC in floor exercise
- In her first two career floor exercise routines, she has posted scores of 9.900 and 9.875
- Has competed in three events in both Crimson Tide meets this season: vault, balance beam and floor exercise
