
Alabama Closes Tri-Meet Against Texas and Ohio State, Celebrates Senior Day

The two-day meet was the last at home for the Crimson Tide this season as UA heads to Auburn for a dual meet on Friday
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –Alabama swimming and diving closed out its two-day tri-meet against Texas and Ohio State on Saturday at the Alabama Aquatic Center. The Crimson Tide honored 11 seniors and six graduate students in the final home competition of the 2022-23 season.
The No. 6-ranked Alabama women fell to both No. 2 Texas, 231.50-139.50, and No. 5 Ohio State, 220-133. The No. 14-ranked Alabama men were defeated by No. 2 Texas, 220.50-132.50, and No. 13 Ohio State, 230-123.

"Great to race in front of the home crowd with our fans and honor our seniors. We battled against two great teams. Both sides gave great effort and we will find ways to get better moving into next week."
Crimson Tide Highlights
- Rhyan White earned the first victory of the day for Alabama, winning the 200 backstroke in a time of 1:54.03
- White touched the wall a second and a half faster than the second-place finisher
- Kensey McMahon won the 500 freestyle, stopping the clock at 4:47.43
- McMahon earned her second win of the weekend, also taking top honors in the 1,000 freestyle on Friday
- Charlie Hawke placed second in the 100 freestyle, touching the wall at 43.61
- Derek Maas clocked a 1:58.43 in the 200 breaststroke to finish second in the event

- The Alabama swimming and diving teams will return to action on Friday, squaring off against the Auburn Tigers in a dual meet
