
Alabama Duo Named to USA Swimming National Team

Rhyan White and Kensey McMahon are both making return appearances on Team USA’s roster for 2022-23
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Alabama swimming and diving duo of Rhyan White and Kensey McMahon have earned spots on the USA Swimming National Team roster for 2022-23.
It is the second year in a row that White, an Olympic medalist and World Champion, has earned a place on Team USA's roster. McMahon is making her third appearance on Team USA's roster, having previously earned spots in 2019-20 and 2020-21. The distance ace also earned a spot on the U.S. Open Water Team, competing at the World Championships this past summer.
Both women are fifth-year seniors on the Crimson Tide's 2022-23 squad.

"It's a great honor for Rhyan and Kensey to be named to the US National team. We are extremely proud of both of these ladies and all they have accomplished up to this point. It will be an exciting year ahead as they represent the University of Alabama and Team USA."
Rhyan White
- First member of the Alabama women's program to earn a place on the U.S. Olympic Swim Team
- Competed at the Tokyo Olympiad, earning silver in the 400-meter medley relay and taking fourth place in both the 100m and 200m backstrokes
- Became the first UA woman to win an event at the U.S. Olympic Swim Team Trials, taking first in the 200m backstroke after finishing second in the 100m backstroke
- Earned a bronze medal in the 200m backstroke at the 2022 FINA World Championships
- 2021 FINA Short Course World Champion in the 200m backstroke and silver medalist as part of Team USA's 200m medley relay
- Won the 200m backstroke and took silver in the 100m backstroke at the 2022 USA Swimming Summer National Championships
Kensey McMahon
- Took 10th at the 2022 FINA World Open Water Championships in the 25-kilometer race
- Earned a spot on the USA Swimming National Team in 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2022-23 and is part of the U.S. Open Water National Team for 2022-23
- Took 15th in the 10-kilometer race at the 2022 FINA Marathon Swim World Series in Setúbal, Portugal
- Took eighth overall and fifth among Americans in the 10-kilometer race at the 2022 United States Opener Water Championships
- Earned a trio of bronze medals at the 2022 USA Swimming Summer National Championships in the 400m, 800m and 1,500m freestyles
