Crimson Tide Track and Field Contingent Opens World Championships Friday in Eugene

EUGENE, Ore. – Alabama track and field will be well represented at the 2022 World Athletics Championships which will be held July 14-24 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., site of the 2022 NCAA Championships where the Crimson Tide men and women both posted top-15 national finishes.

Alabama has 14 past and present athletes set to compete on the world stage starting with three events on Friday, the championships' first day of action.

Crimson Tide on Day One

The World Championships open Friday, July 15
Shelby McEwen (USA) gets things rolling for the Crimson Tide contingent at 10:10 a.m. PT with the prelims of the men's high jump
Daniel Haugh (USA) goes in the prelims of the men's hammer throw at 10:30 a.m. PT
Portious Warren (Trinidad and Tobago) opens her week in the prelims of the women's shot put at 5:05 p.m. PT
