
Alabama Opens Play at 2022 SEC Softball Tournament Thursday as No. 2 Seed

The Crimson Tide will face the winner of Wednesday’s game between Missouri and Auburn
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama enters the 2022 SEC Softball Tournament as the No. 2 overall seed, earning a first-round bye before opening play on Thursday, May 12 at 1:30 p.m. CT live on the SEC Network against the winner of Wednesday's matchup between Missouri and Auburn.
Action at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium in Gainesville, Fla., begins Tuesday, May 10 and continues through the championship game on Saturday, May 14. Seventh-seed Missouri and 10th-seed Auburn will play Wednesday, May 11 at 1:30 p.m. CT live on SEC Network with the winner advancing to face the Crimson Tide the following day. The winner of that game will advance to face either Tennessee, LSU or Mississippi State in the semifinals for a chance to advance to the SEC Tournament Championship on Saturday.
Alabama owns a 44-26 (.629) all-time record in the SEC Tournament, including a 40-23 (.635) mark under Head Coach Patrick Murphy. The Crimson Tide have won six tournament titles, doing so in 1998, 2003, 2005, 2010, 2012 and 2021. Alabama's 2005 SEC Tournament title came in Gainesville, Fla., the only time prior to this season Florida has served as host for the tournament.
