ATHENS, Ga. –– The 13^th-seeded Alabama men's tennis team fell 4-0 to fifth-seeded Tennessee Thursday in the second round of the Southeastern Conference Tournament at Georgia's Magill Tennis Complex.

Despite battling back in doubles, Tennessee captured wins on courts two and three, respectively, to take an early 1-0 lead in the match. Alabama saw strong performances from Juan Martin, who clinched the match for the Crimson Tide in its victory over Vanderbilt Wednesday, and Zach Foster, but UT would win at singles spots three, one and four, respectively for the overall win.

The Match

Tennessee jumped out to an early lead taking two contested 6-4 scores on doubles courts two and three, respectively
No. 53-ranked Filip Planinsek and Patrick Kaukovalta were trading points, 5-6, with the 25^th-ranked doubles team of Pat Harper and Adam Walton when the opening point was decided
With momentum from the doubles win, Tennessee followed with singles victories on courts three, one and four, respectively, to win the match and advance to the quarterfinals
Despite the loss, Martin secured an early advantage on court five, fighting to take a 7-5 set-one win against Angel Diaz. He was trading games in a back-and-forth second set when the match was clinched.
Foster also had a strong showing, falling in an opening set tiebreaker 7-6 (1) on court six. He was trailing 0-2 when the match concluded.

The NCAA Selection Show will announce its team bracket on May 2 at 5 p.m. CT, while the individual field will be announced May 3 on NCAA.com
