The senior guard led the Southeastern Conference in three-point field goals made and per game end of the regular season
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Brittany Davis, University of Alabama women's basketball senior guard, was named to the All-Southeastern Conference Second Team, it was announced by the league office Tuesday.
Davis concluded the regular season as the SEC leader in three-point field goals made (77) and three-point field goals per game (2.85).
The senior has recorded double-digit points in 25-of-27 games this season, including 10 20-plus point games and two 30-plus point games. She has been on an electric streak of late, scoring at least 18 points in 11 of the last 13 contests.
Davis has also recorded five double-doubles this season, with three of those occurring in conference action. The 5-foot-9 guard has led the team in rebound average all season, too, adding 7.0 rebounds per contest.
The Manchester, Ga., native, who has reset her career high in three-point field goals made in a single game four times this season, has recorded 77 scores from long range in 2021-22. That number is ranked seventh on the program's all-time, single-season leaders list, while she is just 15 three-point field goals away from breaking the school record.
In her last game of the regular season against Vanderbilt Sunday, Feb. 27, Davis had her second 32-point performance in the last three games, after an impressive 11-of-13 from the field, including 8-of-9 from long range, with her eight three-point field goals tying a school record.
No Crimson Tide player has knocked down eight three-point field goals in more than a decade, since Ericka Russell did so at Arkansas Feb. 27, 2011. It hasn't been done at home in nearly three decades, since Betsy Harris did so against Auburn Feb. 16, 1994. Moreover, Davis' 88.9 percent from the arc in the game against the Commodores is the fourth-best, three-point field-goal percentage in program records.
Davis has set a career high in a handful of categories this season including points (32 2X), rebounds (12), assists (4 2X), steals (4), minutes (48), three-point field goals (8) and free throws (8).
