
Alabama Inks Naomi Jones to 2023 Class

Jones joins the class of 2023 as a four-star recruit from Jackson, Ala.
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama women's basketball announced the signing of Naomi Jones Wednesday. A 6'3" forward and four-star recruit from Jackson, Ala., Jones is an active and dominant defender.

A four-star forward from down the road, Jones brings an active and energic game that has allowed her to excel on the court. Her ability to block shots and rebound inside the paint has enabled her to control the game on the defensive side of the ball, while her footwork and control off the glass has contributed to her scoring presence inside.
Jones' dominance on the court has led to an impressive high school resume. She was invited to compete at ASGR Top Ten All-American Camp. Ranked 87th by ESPNW, Jones averaged 15.4 points per game, 11 rebounds per game and 1.4 assists per game her junior year. The forward pulled down 107 boards, leading her high school team to a 22-4 record while earning first team AHSAA Class 4A honors. Her sophomore year, she helped lead the Aggies to a 29-3 record and a AHSAA State semifinal appearance. She averaged 13.2 points per game and 10.5 rebounds per game, while tallying 57 blocks. Jones scored her 1,000th point on Dec. 28, 2021. She also earned AHSAA Female Athlete of the Week honors on Feb. 14, 2022.
Jones has tallied 28 career double-doubles while at Jackson High School. She was named a two-time 4A First Team AHSAA All-State and 4A All-Region Team selection and a three-time All Area Team selection in addition to being named a Third Team AHSAA Class 5A selection as a freshman. Jones also competed in the 2021 North vs. South All-Star game.
Jones plays for Trinnia McKenzie-Smith at Jackson High School. Jones also competed with Alabama Southern Starz on the Nike EYBL Circuit under director and head coach Doug Bush.
