Alabama Swimming and Diving’s Kensey McMahon Named SEC Swimmer of the Week

The Crimson Tide distance ace won the 1,000 and 500 freestyles by a combined 38 seconds against the South Carolina Gamecocks in UA’s home opener
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama distance ace Kensey McMahon was named the Southeastern Conference Swimmer of the Week after a dominant showing against the South Carolina Gamecocks last Saturday, the league office announced Tuesday.

- McMahon won both the 500 and 1,000 freestyles against South Carolina by more than 37 seconds combined
- The All-American and member of the United States National Team posted a 9:47.89 in the 1,000 and 4:50.81 to take top honors in the 500
- She has swept the distance events in both meets this season, with all four wins coming against SEC opponents after the Crimson Tide opened the season on the road at Arkansas
