
Alabama’s McKinley Crone Earns SEC Defensive Player of the Week

Crone recorded her 14th win this season, and 32nd as the Crimson Tide goalkeeper, with a 2-1 win over No. 7 Arkansas
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama soccer goalkeeper McKinley Crone was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. Crone led the second-ranked Crimson Tide soccer team to a 2-1 victory over seventh-ranked Arkansas on Sunday.

- Recorded her 14th win this season, and 32nd in an Alabama uniform, in a 2-1 victory over seventh-ranked Arkansas
- Holds the record for single season and career wins by an Alabama goalkeeper
- Has shut out six teams this season, including holding then-No. 18 Clemson and then-No. 5 South Carolina without a goal through 90 minutes
- Has allowed just two goals in the last three games, both to top-20 ranked teams
- Outside of a 3-2 win at No. 6 BYU and 4-2 victory at Tennessee, Crone has not allowed more than one goal by an opposing team all season
- Has tallied 190 career saves at Alabama, ranking seventh all-time at UA
- Has had three shutouts against league opponents, ranking fourth in the conference in the stat
- Has made 21 saves against SEC foes and holds a save percentage of .808 in league play, raking second in the SEC
- Allowed just five goals against SEC schools for a 0.71 GAA, with only one goalkeeper holding a better GAA

- In its last match, defeated Arkansas for the first time since 2017
