
Standout College Golfer Charlie Nikitas Signs to Join Alabama Men’s Golf Team this Spring

Nikitas, a graduate transfer from Miami (Ohio), will be eligible to compete for the Crimson Tide this spring
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama head men's golf coach Jay Seawell announced that Charlie Nikitas, a four-year letterwinner and three-time All-Mid-American Conference performer across four years of competing at Miami (Ohio). Nikitas be a graduate transfer at the University of Alabama and will be eligible to compete immediately for the Crimson Tide this spring.
Nikitas was a two-time All-MAC honoree as a freshman, earning the 2018 MAC Freshman of the Year and second team all-conference honors. The following season, he was named All-MAC First Team after leading the Redhawks stroke average.

With him being a graduate transfer, he has a desire to play at next level. Our program will give him valuable competition at home and on road and we look forward to him joining the program this semester."

Miami (Ohio) (2018-21)
- A four-year letterwinner under head coach Zac Zedrick
- Earned three Mid-American all-conference honors across his four seasons including MAC Freshman of the Year and second team all-conference in 2018 and All-MAC First Team in 2019
- Competed in 37 career tournaments across his four seasons with the Redhawks
- Led team in stroke average in 2019 (72.70), 2020 (72.05) and 2021 (73.77)
- His sophomore year scoring average of 72.05 in 2020 is second-best in the Miami record books while his 72.70 as a freshman is fourh-best
- Finished with six career top-10 results including a career-best runner-up finish at the 2021 MAC Championship
Prep Highlights
- Four-year letterwinner for Glenbrook South High School in Glenview, Ill.
- Named All-State in 2015
- T-6th at the 2015 Illinois State Tournament, which included a career-best round of 65
- Qualified for 2016 US Amateur which was played at Oakmont
- Finished tied for 19th at Western Junior Amateur in 2017
