
Alabama Gymnast Lilly Hudson Named SEC Freshman of the Week

The Crimson Tide rookie posted a score of 39.525 in her all-around debut in leading Alabama over then No. 9 Kentucky
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama gymnast Lilly Hudson was named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
The Crimson Tide rookie posted a score of 39.525 in her all-around and Coleman Coliseum debut against then-No. 9 Kentucky, winning both the balance beam with a 9.925 and the floor exercise with a 9.950, on the way to clinching Alabama's win over the Wildcats.
Her all-around total is the best score by an SEC freshman this season and the third-highest freshman tally in the nation this year. She is currently ranked eighth in the all-around nationally and second in the SEC.
Her all-around score helped push Alabama to a 197.650, the highest team total in the SEC over the last two weeks and the second highest this season, ranking Alabama fifth nationally by high score. Her 9.95 paced the Tide to a 49.625 on the floor exercise, marking Alabama's highest January floor total in program history.
Hudson and her teammates return to action Friday, Jan. 28 at Auburn, with the meet getting underway at 8 p.m. CT in Auburn Arena. The meet will air on ESPN2 with Bart Conner, Kathy Johnson Clarke and Samantha Peszek calling the action.
