
Alabama Cross Country Women First, Men Fourth in Preseason South Region Poll

The Crimson Tide heads into the first week of the season ranked in the top five in both the men’s and women’s coaches poll
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's cross country team is No. 1 and the men are fourth in the South Region according to the 2021 NCAA Division I Women's Cross Country Preseason Regional Rankings that were released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Monday.
The women's South Region preseason top five is comprised of No. 1 Alabama, No. 2 Ole Miss, No. 3 Florida State, No. 4 Georgia Tech and No. 5 Tennessee. The men's top five has Ole Miss at No. 1 followed by No. 2 Florida State, No. 3 Middle Tennessee State, No. 4 Alabama and No. 5 Tennessee.
In the preseason Southeastern Conference coaches poll released last week, the Crimson Tide women were ranked second and the men were third.
Alabama opens the 2021 season on Saturday, Sept. 4 at the Memphis Twilight in Memphis, Tenn.
