21 Alabama Student-Athletes Set for Summer Commencement

The Crimson Tide’s total includes an NCAA Champion, eight All-Americans and five who earned their master’s degree
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – A total of 21 Crimson Tide student-athletes are slated to receive degrees during The University of Alabama's summer commencement this weekend, including an NCAA Champion, eight All-Americans and five who earned master's degrees.
NCAA champion and All-American gymnast Lexi Graber along with the All-American track and field contingent of Bobby Colantonio Jr., Leander Forbes, Ryan Lipe, Jake Spotswood, Katie Funcheon and Takyera Roberson and All-American swimmer Kaila Wong all earned degrees this summer.
Baseball's Johnny Hawk and volleyball's Madelyn St. Germain, along with men's tennis players Gabriel Diaz Freire, Edson Ortiz and Zhe Zhou, all earned master's degrees this semester.
Football's Joshua Lanier, Michael Parker and Jarez Parks earned their degrees this summer, along with basketball players James Rojas from the men's team and Allie Craig Cruce from the women's squad.
Others finishing their degrees include Ellen Davis (rowing), Riccardo Roberto (men's tennis) and Kaitlyn Madden (soccer).
Combined with the 30 graduates who earned degrees following the fall semester and 102 who earned degrees in the spring, 153 Alabama student-athletes took home diplomas during the 2020-21 academic year.
