Alabama Women’s Golf Travels to Baton Rouge for NCAA Regionals

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –The 21st-ranked Alabama women's golf team begins play in the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional Monday at the 6,340-yard par 72 The University Club.

The event will consist of three rounds of stroke play, with 18 holes being played each day. The top six teams along with the top three individuals from non-advancing teams advance to the NCAA Championships in Scottsdale, Ariz., which begins May 21^st.

About Alabama

Alabama finished in seventh at the SEC Championship. The Crimson Tide advanced to match play and defeated No. 2 seed South Carolina before falling to No. 3 seed Auburn in the semifinals.
UA played its best tournament of the season at the SEC Championship, posting a team score of 850. Ten scores of even par or better were posted for the Tide in the three day event.
Alabama has already competed at The University Club this season, where they finished 11^th and posted a team score of 892.

Conquering the Course

Overall, six of the 18 teams in the field are ranked in the Top 25 in the Golfstat.com Team Rankings including three that are in the top 15
Among the 18 participating teams are Alabama, Baylor, East Tennessee State, Houston, Jacksonville State, Kennesaw State, LSU, Maryland, Miami (Fla.), Mississippi State, North Texas, Ole Miss, Oregon, Oregon State, Purdue, Quinnipiac, Sam Houston State and Tulsa.

Leading the Lineup

The lineup this week will feature SEC Freshman of the Year recipient Benedetta Moresco followed by Polly Mack, Kenzie Wright, Emilie Øverås and Caroline Curtis.

Alabama will begin teeing off at 8 a.m. CT alongside Maryland and Oregon. Live scoring will be available throughout the tournament at GolfStat.com.
