
Alabama Women’s Golf Travels to Arizona for NCAA Championship

The Crimson Tide will tee off Friday morning for the first round of stroke play
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –The Alabama women's golf team begins play in the NCAA Championship Friday morning at the 6,384-yard par 72 Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
The event will consist of three rounds of stroke play with 18 holes being played each day. At the conclusion of the third round, the top 15 teams and top nine individuals on non-advancing teams compete for an additional day of stroke play to determine the top eight teams and crown an individual champion.
The top eight teams after round four will compete in a match play format that consists of quarterfinals, semifinals and a national championship match to determine the winner.
About Alabama
- Alabama last competed in the SEC Championship, where they finished seventh. The Crimson Tide advanced to match play and defeated No. 2 seed South Carolina before falling to No. 3 seed Auburn in the semifinals.
- UA played its best tournament of the season at the SEC Championship, posting a team score of 850. Ten scores of even par or better were posted for the Tide in the three day event.
Conquering the Course
- Overall, 21 of the 24 teams in the field are ranked in the Top 25 in the Golfstat.com Team Rankings and that includes six SEC opponents.
- Among the 24 participating teams are Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, Auburn, Baylor, Duke, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, Kent State, LSU, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Oregon, South Carolina, Southern Cal, Stanford, Texas, UCLA, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.
Leading the Lineup
- The lineup this week will feature SEC Freshman of the Year recipient Benedetta Moresco followed by Polly Mack, Kenzie Wright, Emilie Øverås and Caroline Curtis, with Carolina Caminoli traveling as an alternate.
Alabama will begin teeing off at 9:36 a.m. CT alongside Kentucky and Michigan State. Live scoring will be available throughout the tournament at GolfStat.com.
