The Crimson Tide earned its 16th straight regional selection, however, failed to qualify nationals
STILLWATER, Okla. – The Alabama men's golf team had its season come to a close on Tuesday afternoon at the 2021 NCAA Men's Golf Stillwater Regional, ending the three-day, 54-hole event with a team total of 905 (310-294-301).
Weather wreaked havoc all week and was why the Stillwater Regional was the only one of the six to complete play a day early. On Monday, the event was forced move to 36 holes due to the threat of inclement weather in the extended forecast. Tuesday's round brought a 2 hour and 20 minute weather delay before the Crimson Tide teed off the third and final 18 holes of play.
Jay Seawell Thoughts
"Just a really disappointing week. Basically, we struggled driving the ball. You have to drive the ball well on this course and we just didn't. In the first round, we got behind and it's tough to catch up out here. It came fast and hard, we didn't make the adjustments we needed. It was just a really bad week for us. It's unfortunate because they're good kids and they've worked hard. I feel really bad for our seniors Davis (Shore) and Wilson (Furr). Both stood on this very green as freshman when we had a chance to win a national championship. Here we are full circle four years later. I am proud of them and they have certainly left their mark on the program."
