The Crimson Tide finished the two-day event in 11th place
BATON ROUGE, La. – The 23rd-ranked Alabama women's golf team carded a final-round 299 to finish in 11th place Wednesday at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic on the par-72, 6,350-yard The University Club.
As a team, the Crimson Tide posted rounds of 301, 292 and 299 to finish 11th with a 54-hole total of 892. LSU posted a tournament score of 852 (289-278-285) to bring home the tournament title.
"We were playing pretty well for about the first 12 holes and putting ourselves in position for a better finish and then things just fell apart," Alabama head coach Mic Potter said. "You fall down the leaderboard pretty fast when that happens playing against SEC competition and it has happened too many times this year. We have to find a way to go lower and finish rounds the right way because we have the talent and ability to do that. We are going to put today behind us and then get to work fixing some things before next week's SEC Championships."
Individually, Benedetta Moresco led the Tide with a tournament score of 216 (70-73-73) and finished in a tie for sixth place. Ingrid Lindbald of LSU claimed the individual tournament title.
