Alabama Track and Field’s Tamara Clark Earns National and Conference Recognition

Clark recorded a national-best time and school record in the women’s 100-meter run at the LSU Alumni Gold
NEW ORLEANS – Alabama track & field's Tamara Clark secured USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week and Southeastern Conference Women's Runner of the Week honors, it was announced Tuesday. Clark snags the weekly honors after a record-breaking performance at the LSU Alumni Gold last weekend.
USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week and Women's SEC Runner of the Week
- Ran a PR of 10.96 in the 100 meters at the LSU Alumni Gold meet, winning the race in school-record time
- With her sub-11 seconds time, Clark matched the seventh-fastest mark in collegiate history
- Her mark of 10.96 bettered the three-year-old Alabama program record that sat at 11.02, recorded by Clark at the 2018 SEC Outdoor Track and Field Championships as a freshman
- Clark also holds the second-best national mark of the season in the women's 200 meters (22.50) after her performance at the Florida Relays in March
- This is the first time since 2015 that a female athlete from Alabama has been named National Athlete of the Week during the outdoor season
