Alexey Nesterov led the Crimson Tide with wins in both singles and doubles

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Alabama men's tennis team fell to Mississippi State by a score of 4-1 on the second day of the Southeastern Conference Championships in Fayetteville, Ark., on Tuesday. The Crimson Tide goes to 14-12 on the season, while the Bulldogs go to 16-8.

Alexey Nesterov combined with Edson Ortiz to earn a win at No. 2 doubles. Nesterov then came back to post a straight-set win at No. 6 singles.

Head Coach George Husack Said

"A tough match tonight with slim margins that started in doubles and continued in singles. Mississippi State executed at a higher rate than we did in big moments and that was the difference. We had a much improved team effort from our last two matches. While it wasn't the road trip we envisioned, we will return home to rest, refuel and respond. I'm confident in our team's ability to embrace the preparation process for NCAAs and putting that work into action."
