
Alabama Women’s Golf Set to Compete in the SEC Championship

The Crimson Tide will tee off Wednesday morning for the first round of tournament
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The 24th-ranked Alabama women's golf team will compete in the SEC Championship tournament on Wednesday in Birmingham, Ala., at the 6,253-yard par 72 Legacy Course at Greystone Golf and Country Club.
The event will be five days with three rounds of stroke play followed by three rounds of match play. Eighteen holes will be played Wednesday-Friday. The field will then cut to the top eight teams and begin match play. The quarterfinals and semifinals matches will be played on Saturday, with the championship match airing Sunday on SEC Network at 7:30 a.m. CT.
About Alabama
- The Crimson Tide finished the spring slate 11th at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic after placing 11th at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic.
- UA's play at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic was highlighted by Benedetta Moresco even-par (70-73-73/216) overall tournament score, which placed her tied for sixth in the field. Her performance helped her earn SEC Freshman of the Week honors.
- Alabama last won the SEC Championship in 2016 and is seeking their fourth conference title crown.
Conquering the Course
- Overall, eight of the 14 teams in the field are ranked in the Top 25 in the Golfstat.com Team Rankings including five that are in the top 10
- Among the 14 participating teams are Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt.
Leading the Lineup
- The lineup this week will feature Benedetta Moresco, Kenzie Wright, Polly Mack, Caroline Curtis and Emilie Øverås.
Alabama will begin teeing off at 8 a.m. CT alongside Vanderbilt and Florida. Live scoring will be available throughout the tournament at GolfStat.com.
