
Play Suspended During Final Round of the Tiger Invitational with Alabama Men’s Golf in Second Place

The Crimson Tide’s Wilson Furr was in second place through the first two full rounds of play
OPELIKA, Ala. – The final round of the Tiger Invitational was suspended due to weather in the Auburn-Opelika area on Tuesday. Action is slated to resume play Wednesday at 10 a.m. CT.
The Alabama men's golf team was in second place heading into the final round of the two-day, three round tournament. The Crimson Tide carded rounds of 12-under par 276 in the morning and 5-under 283 in the afternoon to end day one with a 36-hole total of 17-under par 559.
UA was led by captain Wilson Furr, who caught fire with birdies in his first five holes and seven of the opening 10 holes of round one. The Jackson, Miss., native finished Monday morning with 10 birdies and two bogeys to end with an 8-under par 64. He followed that with a 2-under 70 and was in second overall at 10-under par 134, one stroke back of clubhouse leader Davis Thompson of Georgia.
The Crimson Tide entered the final 18 holes three strokes back of tournament host No. 16 Auburn (556). Georgia, ranked No. 13, was in third overall at 562, followed by No. 14 Vanderbilt (566) and No. 20 Tennessee (566).
