JaMya Mingo-Young’s 26 Points, 11 Rebounds Aids in Alabama’s Win at Chattanooga, 80-64

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The University of Alabama women's basketball team won its sixth straight game in just 12 days, taking down Chattanooga in Chattanooga, Tenn., 80-64, in its first true road game Sunday. The Crimson Tide improved to 8-2 in 2021-22, while the Mocs dropped to 1-8.
JaMya Mingo-Young led all scorers on a career-high 26 points (9-of-15 shooting), adding 11 rebounds, a couple of assists and a pair of steals in less than 30 minutes of action. It marked the junior's second double-double of the season. Khyla Wade-Warren also had double-figure scoring game, tacking on 11 points (4-of-5) and six rebounds.
The Crimson Tide and the Mocs were tied up at the half, 33-33, but the Tide outscored the Mocs, 22-10, in the third quarter, sparking its 22-point lead in the final frame. The Crimson Tide had its fourth straight game of shooting better than 45 percent from the field, on 47.5 percent against the Mocs (29-of-61). It continued its streak of eight straight games outrebounding its opponents, as Alabama grabbed 42 off the glass, compared to Chattanooga's 31.

- Alabama made four of its first seven attempts from the field, while also knocking down five of six free throws.
- Chattanooga made four of its first six attempts from the field, including a 3-pointer and a pair of free throws.
- The Mocs tied the game at 13-13 after a couple of free throws, then took a 15-13 lead with a layup on their next possession.
- It was back and forth the rest of the first quarter, however Taylor Sutton drove in her second layup of the quarter to help Alabama take a 21-18 lead at the end of the first quarter.
- Chattanooga tied the game out of the break on a 3-pointer, 21-21.
