
Alabama’s Diana Petkova and Kalia Antoniou Post Top-25 Finishes at FINA World Championships

Diana Petkova posted two more top-25 finishes while Kalia Antoniou tallied her second at the 2021 FINA World Championships being held in Abu Dhabi
ABU DHABI – Alabama's Diana Petkova and Kalia Antoniou tallied a trio of top-25 finishes at the 2021 FINA World Championships at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirate Monday,
Petkova, swimming for Bulgaria, was 21st in the 200-meter individual medley after posting a time of 2:12.59. Antoniou, swimming for Cyprus, took 19th in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 24.67, while Petkova was 23rd after touching the wall with a 24.86.
Petkova has now earned five top-25 finishes while Antoniou has come away with pair at the World Championships. Earlier in the week, Rhyan White earned gold in the 200-meter backstroke, silver as part of Team USA's 200-meter medley relay and fifth in the 100-meter backstroke, while Kaique Alves earned a bronze as part of Brazil's 800-meter freestyle relay.
