
Alabama’s Rhyan White Earns World Championships Silver with Team USA

The Crimson Tide standout led off United States’ 200-meter medley relay, which finished second at the World Championships
ABU DHABI – Alabama's Rhyan White added a World Championships silver medal to her resume after leading off Team USA's 200-meter medley relay Friday at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
White, who also earned a silver medal as part of the United States' 400-meter medley relay contingent at the Tokyo Olympics, led off Team USA's 200m medley relay that clocked a 1:43.61. White also finished fifth in the 100-meter backstroke on Friday after posting a time of 55.87.
Diana Petkova and Kailia Antoniou both posted top-25 finishes in the 100-meter freestyle. Petkova scored her second top-25 finish in as many days, taking 19th in the 100m freestyle with a time of 54.05 after taking 25th in the 50-meter breaststroke on the championships' first day. Antoniou opened her World Championships' slate with the 100m freestyle, taking 23rd in a time of 54.29.
The Crimson Tide in Abu Dhabi Day Three Schedule
- Due to the time difference, Saturday's prelims are slated to get underway Thursday night at 11:30 p.m. CT, while finals get underway Friday at 8 a.m.
- Rhyan White (USA) is scheduled to swim in the prelims of the 200-metet backstroke
- Diana Petkova (Bulgaria) will compete in the prelims of the 100-meter individual medley
