Crimson Tide Duo Selected to Participate In 2021 SEC Career Tour

Gymnastics’ Luisa Blanco and baseball’s Owen Diodati will take part in the three-day event in Atlanta prior to the SEC Championship Game
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Crimson Tide duo of Luisa Blanco and Owen Diodati are slated to take part in the Southeastern Conference's annual Career Tour Nov. 30-Dec. 2 in Atlanta. The two will join 26 other student-athletes from the other SEC institutions.
Blanco is the defending NCAA balance beam champion and the 2021 SEC Gymnast of the Year while Diodati is a member of the Tide's baseball squad who earned Freshman All-America honors as a rookie in 2020. Blanco is majoring in political science, while Diodati is earning his degree in finance.
This is the fifth year Alabama has participated in the SEC initiative, which returns to Atlanta following a one-year virtual event in 2020.
Held in conjunction with the SEC Football Championship Game week, the career tour provides exposure for SEC student-athletes who are seeking career opportunities in various fields. The program allows student-athletes to connect with human resource recruiters and submit resumes for entry-level jobs and internships while gaining valuable knowledge of professional branding.
The group is scheduled to visit the headquarters and meet with executives at several corporations and organizations in the Atlanta area including Mercedes-Benz Stadium, The Home Depot, Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Braves and Delta Airlines. The student-athletes will begin the three-day event at the site of the SEC Championship Game where they will meet with Mercedes-Benz Stadium staff and take a tour of the facility.
The agenda also includes a visit with SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey and a presentation by Randy Hain of Serviam Partners. The group will have the opportunity to learn insights into building effective business relationships and explore best practices for job seekers.
