
Alabama Men’s Tennis Signs Roan Jones

Jones will join the Crimson Tide for the 2022 season
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –Alabama men's tennis team announced the signing of Roan Jones to its 2022 roster Wednesday.
A dynamic athlete out of Nottingham, England, Jones has experience competing at an elite level and possess a desire to improve and grow his game. Jones spent the year competing on the LTA British Tour and was selected as a wild card for both Wimbledon and J1 Roehampton.
"We're very fortunate and excited to have Roan join our tennis program," head coach George Husack said. "From the beginning of this process, he showed the coaches how motivated and determined he was to find the best fit for his tennis development and academic interests. Great questions, answers and interest to go along with his strong character and growing tennis game. He's hungry to improve and make an impact which will contribute to our locker room, training and competition."

"I chose Alabama due to the strong credentials of the coaching staff, the sense that I'll be challenged and improve my game, and the amazing facilities and support for student-athletes," said Jones. "I'm excited to be a part of the Crimson Tide tennis program."
- The No. 6 under-18 British player
- Was a U14 and U16 British national finalist
- Received a wild cart to compete at both the J1 Roehampton and the 2021 Wimbledon Championships
- Competed in several competitions for the 2021 LTA British Tour
- Trains with Junior Elite Tennis Performance Academy at the Hazelwood Tennis Club in Enfield, London
- Chose Alabama over Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech and California
