
Alabama Adds Four to Its 2022 Track and Field Roster

Alan De Falchi, Ulanda Lewis, Tarsis Orogot and Dane Roets have all signed National Letters of Intent and will join the Crimson Tide for the spring semester
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama track and field team has added four to this year's roster, with Alan De Falchi, Ulanda Lewis, Tarsis Orogot and Dane Roets joining the Crimson Tide in January for the spring semester head coach Dan Waters announced this week.
With its latest additions, Alabama's list of newcomers now stands at 55, the largest combined class in Tide track and field history. That total includes 24 women and 31 men and is comprised of 17 transfer students and 38 true freshmen.

Alan De Falchi | Throws | Sao Paulo, Brazil
- The 2021 NJCAA discus champion out of Highland Community College with a national championship meet record of 61.93 meters (203-2), a mark that also set the Brazilian U-23 national record and is the second best throw ever by a Brazilian
- Took third in the shot put at the 2021 NJCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a toss of 16.92 meters (55-6.25) and fifth in the hammer with a career-best throw of 50.31 meters (165.1)
- Took bronze in the shot put at the 2021 NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships with a 17.33-meter (56-10.25) effort
Ulanda Lewis | Sprints | Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
- Went 11.81 in the 100 meters at the 2020 Carifta Games Trials in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago
- Posted a career-best time in the 200 meters at the 2019 Carifta Games, going 24.09 at the Truman Bodden Complex in George Town, Cayman Islands
- Won bronze medals in the U17 100 and 200 meters at the 2019 Carifta Games
Tarsis Orogot | Sprints | Kampala, Uganda
- Took fourth in the 200 meters at the 2021 World U20 Championships in Nairobi, Kenya with a time of 20.57 after turning in a career-best 20.37 during the semifinals
- Ran a career-best 10.35 in the 100 meters at the Nairobi Kenya World U20 Trials at the Moi International Sports Centre
- Ran a 10.37 in the 100 meters in the semifinals of the 2021 World U20 Championships
Dane Roets | Throws | Roodepoort, South Africa
- Bronze medalist in the shot put at the 2021 World Athletics U20 Championships in Nairobi, Kenya with a toss of 15.61 meters
- Silver medalist in shot put and fourth in discus at the 2021 Junior ASA National Championships in the under-20 division
- Career-best throws of 49.87 meters in the discus and 16.12 meters in the shot put
