
Alabama’s Victor Kiprop Named SEC Cross Country Runner of the Week, Again

The conference accolade marks the rookie’s third SEC recognition this season, previously earning runner of the week and freshman of the week honors
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama rookie Victor Kiprop earned his third Southeastern Conference weekly honor of the cross country season, garnering SEC Runner of the Week recognition the league office announced Tuesday, following an outstanding showing at last Friday's Pre-Nationals Invitational.
Kiprop was also named the SEC Runner of the Week following the North Alabama Showcase in September and was the SEC Freshman of the Week after the Joe Piane Invitational in early October.

- Finished third out of 299 participants in the men's 8-kilometer race with a time of 22:54.80, leading the Crimson Tide to a ninth-place team finish among the stacked field at the Pre-National Invitational
- One of just six men to ever run a sub-23 time over the 8-kilometer course at Apalachee Regional Park
- His 22:54.80 ranks him fourth all-time over the 8-kilometer course at Apalachee Regional Park
With the regular-season behind them, Alabama's men and women return to action on Oct. 29 with the SEC Championships in Columbia, Mo.
