Final Round Results

Alabama was paced by a pair of top-10 finishes from Benedetta Moresco and Polly Mack

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Benedetta Moresco and Polly Mack led the Tide to a fourth-place finish at Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C., held at the Finley Golf Course (par 72, 6,379 yards). Alabama finished with a final round 289 for a 2-under-par 862 tournament total, and B. Moresco and Mack both finished in the top 10 of the 96-person field.

The 18-team tournament field featured 13 teams ranked in the top 50 nationally, according to the latest Golfweek rankings. No. 13 Wake Forest topped the standings with a 17-under-par 847, with Clemson and Virginia Tech taking second and third, respectively.

Moresco carded a final round 70 to finish with a 6-under-par 210 tournament total and the second top-three finish of her career. The sophomore collected three birdies and just one bogey in the final round, jumping five spots on the leaderboard to finish in third place.

Mack closed out her tournament with a final round 70, jumping into the top 10 to finish tied for eighth place with a 5-under-par, 211 tournament total. B. Moresco and Mack have finished in the top-15 in every tournament so far this season.

Emilie Øverås finished tied for 43rd after a final round 78, while Sarah Edwards finished tied for 64th.

After withdrawing from the opening round, Angelica Moresco contributed to the team total for the Tide in both of the final two rounds, posting a final-round 75.

"It was a tougher day because of a cool wind, but the girls hung in there and kept fighting. We overcame some adversity with Angy not able to play the first round, and being under the weather for the final two. We need to improve our wedge play and putting before heading to Old Waverly next week, but as coaches we continue to see great things ahead for this team!"
