
Alabama Men’s Tennis Concludes Day Two At ITA Southern Regionals

The Crimson Tide will compete in the main draw for singles and doubles Saturday
AUBURN, Ala. – Alabama men's tennis concluded the second day at the ITA Southern Regionals Friday at the Yarbrough Tennis Center in Auburn, Ala.
Joao Ferreira opened his match against Calin Postea from Louisiana with a 6-3 win. He followed with a 6-4 second-set decision to top the match and advance to the next round against UAB's Roman Postolka. Ferreira went up a point, defeating Postolka 6-2 in the first set, but fell 6-4, 6-3 in the final two sets to close the match.
Rudi Christiansen won his first match of the day with a two-set win against Benji Jacobson from Tulane. After battling to a 7-5 win in the first set, the UA sophomore posted a 6-0 second-set score to secure the match. He faced Vlad Loback from LSU in his second matchup but retired in the second set.
The Tide will open the main singles draw tomorrow as competition kicks off at 9 a.m. CT.
