
Jami Reed Named SEC Women’s Runner of the Week

Reed won the individual 6k title at the Commodore Classic last Saturday
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama cross country’s sophomore Jami Reed was named Southeastern Conference Women’s Runner of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday. Reed earned the weekly honors for the first time of her career following the Commodore Classic (Sept. 19).

- The sophomore broke her own personal record in the 6k event with a time of 20:57.5 in last weekend’s season and conference opener.
- The Grand Rapids, Mich., native covered the course 10 seconds faster than the second league placeholder.
- Her first-place finish led the Crimson Tide women’s squad to a runner-up finish at the Vanderbilt Commodore Classic.

The Crimson Tide is scheduled to travel to the Florida State Invitational in Tallahassee, Fla., on Oct. 2. The 2020 SEC Championships are scheduled for Oct. 30 in Baton Rouge, La.
