Morgan comes to Tuscaloosa after playing at Virginia during the 2018-19 campaign and the 2019 fall season
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – David Morgan, a two-year standout at the University of Virginia, has transferred to Alabama and will be immediately eligible to tee it up for the Crimson Tide beginning in the 2020 fall season, head coach Jay Seawell has announced.
Morgan comes to the Capstone after spending the previous two seasons at the University of Virginia where he played in 14 of 18 total events in the three semesters in which he competed for the Cavaliers, including 10 of the 11 events during his freshman season in 2018-19. That year, he maintained a 72.57 per round stroke average which ranked third on the team. That average included a 10-under par 206 to lead the Cavaliers at the 2019 ACC Championships.
Prior to his time in Charlottesville, Va., Morgan was a standout prep performer at Seacrest Country Day where he was a five-time first team All-Collier County and a two-time Naples Daily News Athlete of the Year (2017 and 2018).
"I'm excited to have David part of our program," Seawell said. "He proved while he was at Virginia that he has the ability to help us immediately. He is an excellent student also and he will be a great addition to our university and program."
