The Crimson Tide will travel to Stillwater, Okla., to take on Oklahoma State during its non-conference slate
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southeastern Conference released the 2020 matchups for the SEC/Big 12 Challenge on Thursday, which features Alabama traveling to Oklahoma State with the date and time to be announced. The Crimson Tide will make the trip to take on the Cowgirls inside Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater, Okla., during its non-conference slate.
"We are excited to represent the SEC against such a great opponent in Oklahoma State," said head coach Kristy Curry. "This will give us a tremendous opportunity to compete against a well-coached team in one of the toughest road environments in the country."
Alabama is 1-2 all-time in the SEC/Big 12 challenge with its most recent game coming against Iowa State on Dec. 5, 2019 with the Cyclones coming away with the 75-66 victory in Coleman Coliseum. The upcoming game against Oklahoma State is only the second between the two programs, with the first back on Dec. 21, 2000 in Nassau, Bahamas with the OSU earning the 58-54 overtime win.
Last year, the Cowgirls finished the year with a 15-15 record, while going 6-12 in Big 12 play. The 2020 Cowgirl roster returns All-Big 12 performers in Vivian Gray (19.3 ppg) and Natasha Mack (17.6 ppg & 12.5 rpg).
The 2020-21 Crimson Tide squad returns four of five of its starters from a season ago, including the dynamic duo of rising seniors Jordan Lewis and Jasmine Walker. Alabama also has 79 percent of its scoring coming back from last year, while adding five newcomers.
