
Zhe Zhou and Edson Ortiz Highlight ITA Southern Regional Awards

Zhou was named the Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship and the Rafael Osuna Sportsmanship Award winner, while Ortiz was tabbed the Most Improved Senior
TEMPE, Ariz. – Seniors Zhe Zhou and Edson Ortiz highlighted the ITA Southern Regional Awards, as the organization released the regional award winners this morning. Zhou was named the Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship award, along with the Rafael Osuna Sportsmanship Award winner, while Ortiz was tabbed as the ITA Most Improved Senior.
Zhou recognition in two sportsmanship awards speaks to his first-class attitude on and off the court. The senior finished the 2020 year with a 9-5 dual match singles record and 9-4 doubles mark.
Ortiz ended the year as the No. 74 singles player in the country while playing at the No. 1 spot for the Crimson Tide. He ended his 2020 campaign with four singles wins over nationally ranked opponents, while compiling a 4-0 SEC mark in doubles competition at the No. 2 spot. Ortiz was also named the SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year this morning.
