The long-time Crimson Tide staffer earned the honor following a vote of NCAA Division I coaches
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Robin Kelley, the operations coordinator for Alabama gymnastics, was voted the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association Region 1 Administrator of the Year, the WCGA announced Wednesday.
"Robin is invaluable to what we do and allows us to be at our best every day," UA head coach Dana Duckworth said. "It takes a village to be successful and Robin's role became even more vital with the recent retirement of the amazing Rita Martin. Robin's attention to detail, calming presence and positive attitude have such an impact on our program and we are blessed to have her on our team.
A key figure for the Crimson Tide gymnastics program behind the scenes for the past 18 years, Kelley became even more crucial to Alabama's success in 2020 following the retirement of Martin, UA's director of gymnastics operations and the longest-tenured member of the gymnastics staff, after last season.
As UA's director of operations, Kelley was key to a smooth transition as new faces joined Alabama's operation. In addition to managing the changing of the guard, she continued to perform a wide range of administrative duties as well as traveling with the Tide, taking care of the multitude of details that road meets entail.
