The Crimson Tide scores nine runs in six innings to defeat the Razorbacks

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – For the second-straight game, Alabama dispatched Arkansas in under seven innings as the Crimson Tide clinched the weekend series with a six-inning 9-1 win Sunday afternoon at Rhoads Stadium.

Alabama (14-8, 2-1 SEC) scored first with a run in the opening frame before Arkansas (17-6, 1-2 SEC) answered to tie it in the top of the second. Seven unanswered runs in the second and third innings padded the Tide's lead until freshman Karla Hice drove in the game-ending RBI for the second-consecutive game in the bottom of the sixth.

The top of the batting order paced the Alabama offense, with sophomore Skylar Wallace, senior Alexis Mack and junior KB Sides combining to go 8-for-10 with five RBIs. Freshman Lexi Kilfoyl (6-4) threw her second complete-game of the weekend, holding the Razorbacks to two runs on four hits.

"I told every pitcher to be ready for today's game, but Lexi did a great job and we didn't need anyone else. The top of the lineup was on base nine out of eleven times. We switched Skylar from the two to one spot yesterday and she did a great job with that. She's been very consistent at short for us defensively and at the plate. Lexi settled in and pitched a great game for us."
