
Former Standout Steve Hudson Selected to Alabama Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2021

Hudson was a member of the 1979 SEC men’s golf championship team
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Former Alabama men’s golf standout Steve Hudson has been named one of the eight-member Alabama Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2021.
Hudson was a two-time team captain and a key cog in the program’s first-ever SEC Men’s Golf Championship in 1979. The Jasper, Ala., native played professional golf for six years (1981-87). He also was named the Alabama Golf Association’s (AGA) Player of the Year on three different occasions and was twice named the AGA Senior Player of the Year.

A three-time Senior Amateur Masters Champion (2014, 2016 and 2017), Hudson won the AGA State Mid-Amateur Championship and AGA State Senior Championship twice. Additionally, he reached the top 10 in the Golf Week National Rankings four different years and in 2017 he was named the Society of Seniors Player of the Year.
