TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama gymnastics is sixth in the 2021 Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) preseason coaches poll it was revealed Thursday.
The Crimson Tide is one of three Southeastern Conference teams ranked among the top-six, including Florida at No. 1 and LSU at No. 3. Oklahoma checks in at No. 2, Utah at No. 4 and Michigan at No. 5 to round out the top-six teams.
Facing an SEC-only schedule in 2021, the Crimson Tide will take on No. 10 Georgia, No. 12 Kentucky (twice), No. 14 Auburn, No. 15 Arkansas and No. 16 Missouri.
The Crimson Tide was ranked eighth when last season came to a halt just prior to the last regular-season competition in March due to the global pandemic. Alabama and Utah are the only programs in the history of NCAA gymnastics to never finish outside the top-12 in the final national rankings.
