
Alabama Women’s Tennis Duo Opens SEC Challenge with Decisive Doubles Win

Sydney Riley and Isabella Harvison combined to get Alabama’s final fall tournament off to a good start Friday afternoon
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Crimson Tide women's tennis' doubles tandem of Sydney Riley and Isabella Harvison opened Alabama's final tournament of the fall with a dominant win Friday afternoon. In addition to the homestanding Tide, the tournament features players Mississippi State, LSU, Ole Miss and Auburn in both singles and doubles competition.
Riley and Harvison took down LSU's Eden Richardson and Nina Geissler by a score of 6-2. Sasha Gorchanyuk came close to giving the Crimson Tide bookend wins on the day, pushing her match with LSU's Nina Geissler, the finals contest of the day, to a third set, before falling 6-2, 4-6, 7-5.

- The second of two Alabama hosted SEC Challenges continues Saturday at 10:30 a.m., with the Crimson Tide slated for the afternoon session staring at 2 p.m. The matches will be streamed live on RollTide.com.
