
Women’s Golf Continues Fall Season at Old Waverly

The Crimson Tide returns to action Monday morning in its second of three fall tournaments
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Looking to build on its season-opening performance earlier this month, the Alabama women's golf team will travel across the road to participate in The Ally at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Miss.
The field at The Ally be strong, as all 14 Southeastern Conference teams will compete with the addition of Conference USA member, Southern Miss.
About Alabama
- The Crimson Tide opened the season earlier this month with a 10th place finish at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational, a 14-team SEC-only field hosted in Fayetteville, Ark.
- UA returns the bulk of the 2019-20 team that finished runner-up in three consecutive tournaments last fall.
Conquering the Course
- The three-day, 54-hole event will take place at Ole Waverly Golf Club, which will be playing 6,377 and par 72.
- Old Waverly was designed by U.S. Open Champion Jerry Pate and Bob Cupp, and has hosted many tournaments across all levels of golf, most notably the 1999 U.S. Women's Open.
Leading the Lineup
- The lineup this week will be with Polly Mack, Kenzie Wright, Angelica Moresco, Michaela Morard and Emilie Øverås.
- Mack will tee off first for the Tide after garnering a tied for sixth place finish at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational.
- Wright is no stranger to the Old Waverly backdrop, which was hosted her quarterfinal run at U.S. Women's Amateur Championship in 2019.
- In the third spot is Moresco who is one of the most experienced players on the team.
- The four returners from Alabama will be joined by preseason ANNIKA Award Watch List recipient, Morard, who will be playing in her first collegiate event.
- Øverås holds down the fifth spot in the lineup for the Tide after matching Wright's tied for 47th place finish at the BCI.
The Crimson Tide will tee off Monday at 9:54 a.m. CT from hole No. 10. Live scoring will be available throughout the tournament at GolfStat.com.
