
Alabama Divers Open 2020 With a Trio of Top-10 Finishes at the Tennessee Diving Invitational

Sophomore Kevin Li and freshman Tanesha Lucoe both earned individual top-five finishes during the weekend
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – In the Alabama swimming and diving team's first competition of the new year, Crimson Tide divers posted nine top-25 finishes at the Tennessee Diving Invitational in Knoxville, Tenn., this weekend.
Sophomore Kevin Li led the men's squad with a pair of top-10 finishes, while freshman Tanesha Lucoe paced the women's team with a top-five finish.
Li posted the top score of the weekend in the men's 1-meter springboard competition during prelims, tallying 328.80 points over six dives before taking fourth place in finals with 310.10 points. He also took ninth off the 3-meter board with 323.85 points in finals.
After totaling 305.75 in prelims, Lucoe scored 302.65 points in the finals of the women's 3-meter board to snag fifth place.
Other Top-25 Finishes for the Crimson Tide
- Sophomore Hunter Jaynes posted top-20 finishes off both the 1-meter board (18th/267.60 points) and 3-meter bord (19th/279.95 points)
- Of the platform, Li took 11th (269.25 points) and sophomore Shumpei Komatsu finished 21st (202.75)
- Lucoe also finished 11th off the platform, totaling 215.55 points over the course of five dives
- Sophomore Halia Bower was 23rd off the platform after scoring 191.65 points
