No. 42 senior Edson Ortiz won his singles match on Saturday
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Senior Edson Ortiz won his singles match in the second day of the Gamecock Fall Invitational on Saturday in Columbia, S.C. Ortiz and junior Jeremy Gschwendtner fell in both of their doubles matches on the day.
Round-by-Round
- No. 42 Ortiz battled for his second singles victory of the tournament after pushing past Alejandro Requant-Bacardi of Arizona in a three-set thriller, 7-6(5), 5-7, 7-5.
- Gschwendtner advanced via a walkover in his lone singles match of the day.
- As a doubles pair, Ortiz/Gschwendtner fell 8-5 in both of their matches in the morning session.
