MILWAUKEE, Wisc. – The pairing of senior Zhe Zhou and junior Patrick Kaukovalta picked up a doubles victory, while both fell to ranked opponents in singles in day one of the Milwaukee Tennis Classic in Milwaukee, Wisc., on Friday.
Round-by-Round
- In their first match as a doubles pair, Kaukovalta/Zhou battled to a 9-8(3) victory over Kesaris/Watt of Saint Mary's in round one.
- Zhou dropped his first-round matchup against No. 43 Richard Ciamarra of Notre Dame, 6-2, 6-2.
- Kaukovalta enters the tournament as the No. 12 seed in singles but fell to No. 58 Bradley Frye of Southern California in a three-set thriller, 7-5, 4-6, 7-6(3).
